GWP-C World Water Day 2020 Photo Contest

On March 22 each year, World Water Day (WWD) is observed.. The theme for this year’s event is Water and Climate. To commemorate the day the Global Water Partnership – Caribbean (GWP-C) is inviting persons to take part in their World Water Day 2020 Photo Contest. The deadline for the competition is on March 22 2020.

Anyone can enter, up to a number of three times, with an original photo that depicts “taking good care of water” with a relevant caption. Each photo entered must be of a location in the Caribbean region.

The winning entrant will receive a US$100 Amazon Gift Card.

Creating Awareness of Beating Plastic Pollution

In the article linked below, we see that one man, Ben Morison, has taken on the challenge of becoming a change agent, in terms of making persons see that plastic pollution can be remodeled and reused in developing areas, without the need for high tech technologies. This was done by building  the FlipFlopi dhow, with volunteers using ten tonnes of recycled plastic, which was sourced from the beaches of Lamu , as well as, from the streets of Nairobi, Malindi and Mombasa.
